I feed my girl 1/2 to 3/4 inch crix in one of those plastic containers you can get like macaroni salad in, I think it was the 2 pound size, it's not real big, anyway... I do not have any trouble with the crix getting out of that, and I don't have to rip their legs off either. I just perch the container firmly on a tree stump and she munches. Oh, one thing I should mention, if you get a see-thru container paint it or something. I shouldn't laugh, but... the first time I tried to cup feed her, once she realized they were in there she could see them thru the container and shot her tounge to get a cricket, well needless to say she did not get the cricket:) Now I buy the white ones. You can see it at the bottom of her cage.
