In Reply to: Deremensis on baytril, a WEIRD swelling... posted by eric adrignola on May 05, 2003 at 17:44:37:

: I think you are exactly right, carlton, as the vet found NO elevated levels of white blood cells, so a phantom abcess is probably the culprit. I DID mess up, and he missed the last half of his baytril-Not ENTIRELY my fault, I went away for 4 days, and SOMEONE decided they wouldn't be stopping by to treat him.... Anyway, after two days of baytril, it looks smaller, but still THERE. I stuck a silkworm in his mouth, and he ate it right away, chomping it up. I guess he is feeling better, as it was VERY hard for me to open his mouth this afternoon--compared to NO resistance two days ago. Plus, he didn't even kill the silkworm the other day--it hurt too much. Regardless, it looks like it needs to go. IF it isn't down by 50%(yeah, right) by tomorrow night, he's going in the morning(already have an appointment) HE's gained weight over the past month or so, incredible, since he hasn't eaten much at all. I think Deremensis are VERY effecient in their metobolic processes.
:The female, though, I think she's messing with me...I dont know that she's gravid. She looks bloated at night, but not so bloated sometmes during the day.....weird unpredictible animals..
