mini dripper not big enough??

::problem is the dripping water just beads up on the mesh wire of the cage and doesn't drip into the cage. what is the trick to get it into the cage? do i need to spread the mesh out a bit to get the water into the cage and onto the plant?

::I personaly use a one gallon dripper,8-10 hours to empty cycle,7am-10pm.I have a vieled,and at night he isn't active.Seems to be sufficant,STNMAN HD M/C tech
