is because i would think that an animal that lays that many eggs or has a large quantity of live births would have a high mortality rate and the high quantity is ensure the survival of the species. i know that this doesn't apply in comptivity as much as it would in the wild.

:when a chameleon lays eggs, say in this case 20 eggs(this is all a "what if") would you get ALL 20 to hatch or is there a loss either before or after birth?
