yeap I love those hot santa ana winds i get them pretty bad cause i live along side the santa ana river and the key is definatly proper planting and regular misting. the plant i used where honey suckle, bogainvillia and a blueberry bush. i blocked out the wind by zip tieing the bogainvillia branches to the wire on the side the wind came in from. and i had a mist system that kept the soil very moist.
