Dead Silkworm cocoons

I still don't have my cocoon problem solved. How in the world did I kill over a dozen cocoons? I don't think they were too cold or too hot, what else can kill them? I live on the north pole and it's too cold to ship silkworms in the winter, I can solve my problem. Otherwise I think silkworms are charming, sweet little creatures to keep :-) I hope someone can help me at least eventually! Thank you. Made with the dragon dictation program.
