We're in the same area as Bill (post below). We have ours outside much of the year. We utilize an Arizona Misting System that attaches to directly to the hose. I've placed a timer (found at Home Depot or Lowes) at the faucet that turns on the misters during the day. I adjust the length of time for misting and the times that it goes off. Less watering in the morning when things are just starting to warm up, then more frequent waterings (for longer times during very hot days) in the afternoon as the heat and wind builds up. Again the secret is a large amount of foliage to keep the humidity "trapped" in the cage.
