In Reply to: My new panther eating... posted by mheatrule on April 18, 2003 at 13:07:45:
as 'charm' has already mentioned, i'd try silkies and see if he'll eat those. my panther is eating crickets, but only if he hunts them on his own. if i try to cup feed him (to keep an eye on his intake), he'll look totally disinterested and often not eat. he used to cup feed some, more and more now, he won't. just try a veriety of things, mainly to get him eating something different. silkworms, butterworms, small hissing cock roaches, etc. if he would eat the silkworms, that would probably be your best bet.
:I just got a new panther. The thing is, he isnt eating crickets, he only is eating meal worms, and he will only eat them when they are crawling on the screen of his cage. The thing is that the only kind of worms that my local pet store sells are meal worms and super worms. I have heard that super worms arent good for chameleons. So he has just been feeding on meal worms. This is not a 100% healthy diet, right? Do I need to be feeding him some other worms? Silk? Butter?
:Thanks
