Ari,

Braining a (dead) pinkie and putting both the snake and the pinkie in a deli cup (with air holes) works really well for me. As far as scenting, I usually take a dead pinkie and wash it to get the mouse scent off and then scent it with a lizard - sometimes I've had to try a variety of lizards (fence lizard, skink, anole) with really picky snakes. Taking a piece of lizard skin and sticking it on the mouses nose is another option.
