So they are nocturnal, had a feeling but never positive. The reason I ask about heating is because I was going to build my cage around the best way to heat. Is there one better than the other? I assume the heat panals would be expensive and the heat pads not effective for the majority of the cage?? And are the temps you mentioned for the day, night, both??? Sry for all the questions just never got into snakes like I did lizards kinda two different worlds. THX> Kyle

:"Would a cage 4' long 3' high and 2' deep be big enough for an adult?"

:For an adult a 48"L x 24"W x 24"H would be plenty.

:Temps : (Low 70)(Ambient 75-85)(High 90)

:Humidity: 60%-80%

:"And how do you guys heat your cages?"

:Well depends how you set it up and what you use, heat pads, lamps, radient heat panels, heat emmitters, etc.

:"Then lastly my stupid question that trult makes me feel stupid but do snakes need UVB bulbs like lizards?"

:The only stupid question is the one you don't ask. No, pythons are nocturnal and don't need UVB, but if you have the cash and feel like getting one, I have never heard of it hurting them.
