If color is not a problem I'd go with epoxy paints designed for pool use.
Another thing you could do is buy a small fiberglass repair kit and find a scrap piece of the plywood you want to use.
Mix up the fiberglass part only and paint it onto your scrap piece and see how you like it.
This will be the cheapest way, by far, to coat plywood.
Otherwise, the bondo epoxy at $22 per gallon will also be very cheap.
Any of those (the coat-it at tap plastics, bondo epoxy, pool paint, or fiberglass resin) are going to be difficult to deal with. So if you go that route you might as well make it as cheap as possible.
Did you see the Gree Tree Python enclosure posted by Oldherper?
He coated that with fiberglass resin.
