What part of the country do you live in (I assume you live in the US)? In many parts of the lower 48 it will be dangerous to keep a Boa constrictor in an outdoors barn.

One idea is to set up a cheap swamp-cooler in the barn, but be sure you don't have any mold or mildew problems as this will just make them worse. Even with that, there is a chance your barn will get too hot.
