screen it off, so the snake will not be able to directly touch the bulb

:Is it safe to screw in lights at the top of a snake enclosure. I was concerned about burning if it felt like climbing or whatnot. Would I need to put something in front of the light to keep this from happening or what? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
