question about pre-shedding

Just a curiosity here, when ever my black pine in shedding, a day or two before she actually takes the skin off her eyes go from blue/white to almost a black(normal) but not quite. I am wondering if she just hates being blind so much that she takes off the scales on her eyes as soon as she can, or is this what all snakes do.
