Hatchling and juvenile cornsnakes tend to be somewhat 'wiggly' when handled, but get over that with regular amounts of brief handling. My adults are very calm easy-to-handle snakes. They tend to crawl more when I first pick them up, but are not hyper by any means and are very manageable.
I keep a few species of boids too, but I'll always have some cornsnakes around. They're great snakes. I don't think you'd be disappointed.
