What kind of snake?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a type of snake that doesn't get to big. I've had frogs but never snakes and would like to try a snake but I want one that stays rather small. I'm good with accomodating my animals with everything they need so I just need a suggestion as to what type I should get.
