I think a cb ball is a great choice. I would personally get a younger one but thats just me. As for picking a healthy one you'll want to make sure it has good body weight and is alert. Check for signs of parasites and make sure the anal vent is clean. Just by getting a CB ball should eliminate most of these problems. Good luck. They are great snakes. EP
