why do you "need" another turtle. I can understand if you want one but box turtles do not need friends. Did the vet give you a reason? Males may fight with each other. I owuld say its okay to house three toeds and easterns together and three teds and gulf coats should make it okay. I woudn't keep them with floridas, westerns, or deserts, or any of the mexican box turtles at all. North american Wood turtles make decent companions for easterns but they need more water...thes can be accomodated if you really have a lot of space.
I would not mix asian species with north american ones
