Yo,
that looks pretty damn close to my indoor setup. I tried live plants and he killed one and severely maimed the other within a day. The fern's pretty big, it MIGHT stand a chance. Now I use fake plants which is fine by my turtle, he can abuse them as much as he wants and they still provide cover for him. also, by making it a tad deeper you can get over those wheel wells and give your turt more space. What're the dimensions?
