The answer to your question can only be answered by determining if the location where the box turtle was found is a suitable habbitat I live in Florida myself and take care of box turtles the box turtle population here totaly sucks this and last year have been the worst I have ever seen....seen more roadkill boxies than live ones there realy is not much adequate habitat left in Florida for the wild population which is why the population is way down,good luck with your shelled friend keep in mind it is legal to own only 2 in the state of Florida.
