and I solved that problem with MY fence lizards by mounting a small water bowl on top of a 4" high rock, with velcro. This particular rock has a natural staircase built into it, so they can just climb up and drink. I made a drip system from a 2 liter soda bottle which slowly drips water into their bowl and over the rock, which attracts them. Of course, I don't fill the bottle up more than about 3"--don't want 2 liters of water dripping into the tank!
