Cage for Emerald Swift

I am reading some of the posts and realizing that my 10 gallon aquarium will not cut it.

I would like to make my own cage and was wondering if anyone has any ideas or has done this before. I understand that emaralds need height, room to climb. In providing a tall cage, how do you provide a hot side and a cool side?
