ive just bought a lizard. im out in china at the mo, and the shop i got it from arent exactly experts. its some sort of dragon i think. its green, with a bright green underbelly, and a stripy tail, with a touch of pink around its jaw and orange on its sides. its about 14 inches long. im not sure what to feed it, the shop gave me maggots. i went back to try to get some crickets or something, because the lizard doesnt want to eat, but they said they cant get any because its winter. since i bought it, the lizard has spent quite a lot of time out of the cage, roaming round the living room, as long as im there to watch it, and my friends and i always get it out and handle it, letting it sit on our shoulders etc. the house is very cold at the mo, and i cant find a decent heat source. i have been using a fan heater, but cant get hold of a heat lamp or anything. is there anything im doing drastically wrong? also, what should i put in the bottom of the tank? i was thinking sand, but i really dont have any idea. at the mo, its got some blanket in the bottom, but its difficult to clean, and is now pretty minging. cheers for any help.
