At a local pet store in my town there are about 7 green anoles on their death bed. They are housed in a 10 gal tank with crushed walnut as bedding, a water dish, & an over head flourecent light. They are pitiful. I talked the store owner into giving them to me for $1 ea, cause he said they always die on him anyway. I WONDER WHY?!?!?
Anyway, I have never owned any of these b4, I am a snake person myself...but I can clearly see their conditions are not suitable. I am going to list what I can do for them temporarily, & I need you ppl to tell me what to do in order to keep them happy.
I will be taking all 7 of them & I will have to house them in a 10 gal till I get a larger tank or tanks. In the 10 gal I will have a hollowed log for climbing & a hide. A small tree, water dish, UV lighting, tank heater, vines on the back wall, & a good subtrate. I know that sounds like alot, but they actually will have unused space in there.
Other than crickets, what do these lil fellas eat?
What size tank/tanks would i need to house 7 of them?
What all do they require in their tanks?
Are the things I listed above that will be in the temporary tank all that are needed?
Moisture? I can mist the tank daily if need be.
Anything I havent thought of?
I really appreciate you all reading this & offering opinions & advice. I just can't stand by and let these lil guys starve themselves. Thanks in advance for all replies.
