My son was just given a 6 week bearded dragon for his 9th birthday. Now we all can figure out who the main caregiver is for this wonderful little creature. I've got the tempature correct now after 1 week and a near death experience for poor Buddy (it was between 85 - 95 but the girl who breeds them told me to keep it around 115 in basking area for a juvenile). I've got the right lights and all but there are still several questions. We also have 2 aquariums and we know not to use any type of dish soap or cleaning agents on the fishes plants and other supplies...does the same go for the BD? I also need some help in locating a reputable vet for our newest family member. Also...does anyone breed their own crickets? Buddy should have been named PIG as he eats about 10 crickets 3xper day along with his collard greens. My husband doesn't like the idea of breeding crickets along with the aquariums and the beardie but I'm thinking of our cash flow when Buddy keeps eating more & more. Any other tips for a beginner lizard lover would be great. I've got care sheets and all that but I still feel theres a lot more to learn and I don't want to inadvertently harm our new friend. Thanks.
