Max Temps????

I have a question about temps. my 1 yr old is in a 120 gallon with a 150 watt bulb the temp is showing 120 degrees. Is that too hot?? The other end of tank has no heat light so he can there if he's too hot. I've never used a 150 watt but then again I never has such a huge tank. Please let me know what ya think.
