:why is no one saying the obvious! the poor thing is being over heated. in a 10 gallon tank, he has no where to escape the heat from the lamp. he needs atleast a 20 gallon. and when he gets bigger, he's gonna need atleast a 4ft long cage.
Because I completely forgot about it. I should have said it, but didn't. I have a 50 or 60 watt bulb over a 20 gallon tank, and it gets the basking spot to about 115, and the cool side to 80-85. We also didn't know what the temps were, so I did suggest a thermometer. Add to the recommendation a lower wattage heat bulb.
