I would start with a 75wt. bulb & go from there. Once you find out what wt. works best for your set up, Keep spares. I too like Zoo Med basking bulbs but they just don't last. Usually a couple week to max. couple months. Several breeders have recommend to me to use normal house hold spot bulbs. I have not tried them so I can't say yes or no yet.
I would also use a ceramic fixture just to be safe. It cost a lot less to buy one of those than a new house. JMO.
If you can afford the couple extra bucks, Echo Terra has the 8.0 fluorescent and more stores are carrying them now. I just bought my first one & I like the color. It's more blue than the Zoo Med 5.0 so it doesn't give false red coloring tint to your animals.
My hatchlings seem to like 110 F. not too much mouth gaping & they move away when they've had enough. Any higher & they seem to mouth gape allot.
