:I have a 7 inch bearded dragon female. Is it safe to put a 4 inch baby in the same tank with her, or will the larger one eat the smaller one? I placed them together and when i am holding them they are uninterested in eachother. As soon as I placed them together in the same tank, the big one started poking the little one with its head and she started licking everything in sight. I had never seen her do this before. I assume she is just marking territory. Will they get along?

If I had a digital camera I would post a picture of my Spike immediately after his rescue. He was cannibalized by a larger dragon and had to have most of one foot, two toes on another foot and a good bit of his tail amputated to clean him up. Then there was the week of antibiotic injections and the two weeks of cleaning the areas with cold stuff dragons don't like.
Larger beardies will prey on smaller. They also don't share well. Dragons of the same size can apparently be housed together safely though, but you still have to be alert to the whole lack of sharing from the dominant one(s). Better to be safe than sorry.
Enjoy your dragons,
michele
