New Female...with a bit of ranting.

Well, after a bit of a wait, we got a new female today. I was all set to take a good look at her when I got home, but she was in a very VERY foul mood. She hissed like I've never had the pleasure to hear a python hiss before. She went on for several minutes before she calmed enough for me to move her into the quarantine tank. Its no wonder really, the tank they brought her in had a substrate of pine shavings with nothing but aquarium lighting for a heat source. You could smell the pine from across the room. I would have been pissed too.

Hopefully by the weekend, she will have calmed down enough for me to weigh her and get her vitals (and put some pics up.) By looking at her, she is probably at least 40" and about 2,800+ grams.

Ya know...I have to say this...it really amazes me that people will pay good $ for a pet and not take the time to learn as much as they can about the care of it. I've only been into BPs for 3 or 4 months and am still annoying people, probing for more info on care and breeding. I don't mean to rant, I am just dumbfounded by people's lack of sense.
