Can Two Balls Co-habitate?

I have a lovely, large ball python (@ 5 feet) which I inherited from my niece. I've had her several years, and she came with a large cage (6x3x3) which she has occupied alone. I recently acquired a second ball -- about half the size of the first. Can the two share the large cage? If so, any suggestions on easing the introduction of the second snake? Thanks!
