:Hey guys I am getting my first ball python tomorrow I am soo excited!
Congrats! and welcome to the worl of the BP! There wonderful and I wish you luck, hope it is a true CB!
Is a 10 gallon big enough for a hatchling?
A 10 gallon is perfect for a hatchling! make sure you provide him with a hide on eachside that is just the right size for his whole body, & a water dish.
But for now what would be my best bet for heating/ (10 gallon). I was gona use a UTH. Would that provide enough heat? 90 degrees on the warm side.
I think a UTH would be fine alone for a 10 gallon, make sure there is the temp gradiant between sides though.
I would make him a moist hide when his eyes go blue, so he will have a better shed, if you don't just let him have access to it all the time. A thermostat would be a good investment, but if you can't make sure you AT LEAST have a thermometer!
Hope this has helped!
