Thank you and I most definetely agree with your adive however I just got back from my local pet shop where the lady said that they indeed need BOTH an UTH and a heating (basking) light for use in a 10 GALLON Aquarium. It sounded like a line of BS but she did make a point. She said that in the wild the sun heats the air and the ground so it is necessary to have both heating from the top AND bottom. As you mentioned that would work in a larger aquarium but if i used 2 heating devices that would turn a 10 gallon aquarium into a chicken rotissery.
