Why won`t they stay green that much?

My 4 Green Anoles Don`t seem to want to stay green all that much I have pleanty of branches a UVB and a heart leafed philodren I am currently useing paper towls as a substrace any ideas why they don`t want to stay green all that much? They are WC not CB so that might have something to do with it but they have been in captivity for quite some time now say 8 months almost they were ones I saved from the cats othorwise they would of died. Othor than the staying green part they are healthy and eat good any ideas are appericated.
