Poisonous Lizards of Central Africa?

Does anyone know the name of a reptile (I'm specifically interested in lizards)
in Central Africa (specifically Zaire--I think it's now called the
Democratice Republic of Congo) that is poisonous and threatening in
appearance? Prickly?

The information is for a project I'm working on in grad. school.
