: : : I always thought that the only poisonous lizards were the Gila Monster and Mexican Beaded Lizard both in the new world. The Komodo Dragon is also nasty but not poisonous. Im interested in learning more.
: : These lizards that you mention are not poisonous. They are venomous. There is a difference. A venomous creature can inject venom into its prey or an attacker. A poisonous lizard is dangerous if ingested.
: Regardless of venom or toxicity, they don't live in Africa. By the way, are there "poisonous" lizards? Thanks for your correction.
The lizard to which you may be referring to is the blueskop. It is fearsome in appearance with a very blue head as the name suggests. I doubt whether it is poisonous or venomous as my dog has a habit of killing those that come to ground
