I really meant to refer to those who have been in the hobby for a while, and should have already utilized obvious resources available. If you had indeed been in the hobby for a while, and had still never taken the time to flip through the most elementary of snake references-- a field guide, I would have stood by my comments.

: But, you are new. So, now that fact is so obvious, by all means get a good field guide and check out all the good info. The scientific names will come along at some point, and that is cool enough. You don't HAVE to memorize them, but as a true snake lover, you probably will eventually without even trying.
