I just received my gorgeous display cage that I've been waiting on for 6 weeks. This is my first wooden cage, I usually use Vision or Neodesha. It has a built in under floor area for a heating device. My question is how should I go about heating this area without risking a fire? All of the heating pads/mats I have seen warn not to use there product on wood enclosures. I use a Helix digital unit to control temps on my other cages but wouldn't I have to turn it way up to heat through the 1/2 inch wood? I was thinking of using one of the radiant heat panels mounted in the enclosure. Can you mount them on the side of the enclosure or do they have to be mounted overhead? Also, when using the Helix units if you place the probe on one heating pad would it maintain that temperature for all of the ones plugged in to the same unit.
