Actualy, I would'nt regard the Inland Taipan as one of the top ten
most dangerous. Sure their toxic as all he!! but as far as their
disposition is concernd, Id be a hell of alot more scared of most Naja sp
who dont even rank in the top ten as far as venom is concerned. Also, they
come nowhere near heavily populated areas and if memory serves, there has not
been one recorded human fatality(dont qoate me on that).
Its kinda the same senario as our coral snakes. They are by far the hottest snake
in the U.S but how often are they implicated in snake bite or death?
I just think the Inland Taipan has been given too much credit. Sure they should be
treated with the highest respect but as far as being the most dangerous, dead is dead
and there are many sp. out there who are ten times more willing to bite then the so called
"Fierce snake".
Just my opinion.
