: The Fierce Snake (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) is also known as the Inland Taipan, Western Taipan, and Small-scaled Snake. It would probably top anyone's list of most dangerous land snakes. While having size & structure similar to the Mambas, the Taipans are ground dwelling snakes, while the Mambas are, for the most part, arboreal. The Black Mamba, however, is not averse to leaving the trees to travel, & hunt on the ground. ~~Greg~~
