: I think I agree with you. If someone lives in a home with other people, they had better think really hard if they are considering keeping venomous snakes. It is a personal choice that can impact the people around you. I know this first hand.
: One must consider pets, siblings, parents, etc... If a parent is not comfortable with a child of theirs keeping venomous snakes, then the parent has every right to say "no", and this position should be respected.
: On the other hand, if the parents want to take an active interest and supervise their kid in the husbandry and handling of hot snakes, and this kid displays a good amount of responsibility and maturity in this rea, then by all means...
: I have met lots of "youngsters" that I would trust with venomous before many of the oldtimers I've seen. The younger folks tend to have a more realistic repect for the snakes, while oldtimers often get careless because they expect their years of experience to protect them.
