Deforrestation is real and is a way for third world countries to make money! A rain forrest does not generate income! It only harbors a wealth of animal life that has many species not even cataloged. The Eco structure of a Rain Forrest rests entirely upon it's ability to remain pristeen. There exists in it's ecosystem many animal and plant produced protien enzymes that could be of major medical importance to humans.Take a look at all the recently extinct or threatened spps that has occured by destruction of habitat even here in the U.S.!
The kicker also is climatic changes due a global warming caused by what's called Carbon Dioxide emmisions from burning fossil fuels! I"ME NOT FINNISHED!!!!!! The destruction of forrests (ANY) further helps the climatic changes! And why? Every 1 ton of wood on a living tree (30-35 foot Pine) removes 1.47 tons of carbon dioxcide and relaces it with 1.07 tons of oxygen! WOW!
Maybe Oxygen might be a big commodity in the future?
Let's all stick our heads in a hole?
