I just got done (I hope) with getting some weight back on to my Nigerian. I was using a mixture of baby food (squash, peas, or another that fell into the uro food catagory) with mixed in pedialyte. Since hydration plays directly with appitite, I started with about 50/50 and adjusted from there. If I remember correctly, you recently got them, but at that weight, I don't know that I'd wait for the acclimation time to pass. I got a 6cc syringe (no needle) form the vet and would warm the mixture, suck it up, then wedge the plastic tip between the lips of the uro. He would start to "chew" and then I'd get the whole tip in, not letting it come out. I'd begin feeding it in, and you can see their throat open up, and at that point you can get almost a whole syringe in without it backing up. I would do 3-6cc twice a day, and as appitite and energy started to grow, his weight soon did afterwards. I just weened him off and so far, is doing great. It is a bit comforting to know that one can do something at home to make a difference.
Note, to warm the babyfood/pedialyte mixture, I put it in a shot glass and put that into a water glass with hot water from the tap. That way, you don't have to worry about it getting too hot and it won't shock their little systems.
It's not real detailed, but hope it helps.
Jim
