Yes, I've heard that male musks can be snappy little guys--maybe I'll try to get all females(my southern painted is a female) although i hear it is hard to tell male musks from female musks. Oh well. thanks for the reply and dont worry about the run-ons

:You'll hear many different things because turtles are so often possessed of individual traits or personalities. On average, male musks can be bitey towards other turtles, as individuals, some live fine with other animals. Unfortunately, you won't know unless you buy them all as a group from one person who has housed them in a similar way. Docile species like southern painteds should get along with most others, and muds are generally fairly subdued as well. If you mix turtles of any species, even the same species, and even species that are normally calm and get along well, you still need to be prepared for them not being compatible, wether that means finding them new homes or adding more tanks or pens or ponds.
