do u have another russian tortoise in with this one? If so then it might have been that it was gravid (had eggs in it) and the eggs broke and she could have major problems if that is the case. I would take it to the vet ASAP because it could be life threatening and it could be very sick.
:I have a russian tortoise which I have not been able to identify as either sex. This is due to a lack of knowledge--the creature is mature. I'm on a break from college, and my dad has been taking care of the tortoise, and now I find that it's hind quarters and leg pockets look a little bit swollen. In addition, it looks as if he/she has been expelling some white goo from the anus.
:Pregnant or sick? What should I be looking for? Thanks for your help!
