Weighing food

We have quite a variety of animals plus 4 sulcata tortoises. All of the animals & reptiles that I feed fresh foods to are weighed. I truly believe that this is the best way to see that the animals are fed the proper amounts. When I see one eat all of their food I increase the diet a 1/2 oz. or so. If they waste it I know that it's too much. I keep track of all weights of each animal and the weight of their diet. I have primates, they are incredible wasteful animals. Now that I weigh their feed daily and stick to an exact amount there is no waste. It may take more time, but think of the money I save each year because there is no waste.
