QUESTION......Redfoot eye problem.......

Before I take her to the vet, I have wanted to get some opinions. I have an adult, LTC redfoot female that has just recently started to have the corner of her right eye start to grow back about half way and is fairly swollen. No discharge really, just the white fleshy part covering part of the eye and a bit swollen. Are redfoots prone to eye infections and is this an infection because with no noticeable discharge, I can't really figure out what it is..... Any advice would be appreciated...
