Today when I went out to check on Nigel, I found some blood on the ground behind him. Of course I freaked out... and then I tried to figure out what happened. Nigel was calmly and happily grazing away like nothing was wrong...
I took a closer look at the puddle of blood and it didn't look like it was a bowel movement. I suspect that its where he urinated... This did not look like blood IN the urine...it looked like pure blood. I soaked him and he urinated again and there was a lot bright blood and some soft urates.
I'll be taking him to my vet first thing in the morning. Until then...I was wondering if anyone has any idea of what could be wrong.
Nigel has a good appetite. He's been growing and gaining in weight. He lives in an outdoor enclosure and is active and bright eyed.
Have any of you heard of this kind of thing before?
Thanks!
Pamela
