I have a 14", ( measured legnth of the plastron)), male.
Check Tofus tail, is it very short or long and held to the side?
If it's long and held, folded over to the side, Tofu is a male.
The gulars are thicker in males, but unless you also have a female to compare to, it can be hard at that age to know what to look for.
My male does have a more concave plastron too.
Bubba (my male sulcata) started showing his penis last year, I would think that at 14", if Tofu is a male he'd be starting to fan his penis by now.
The correct way to measure a sulcata, is to measure along the plastron to the tip of the gular scutes.
If the plastron is flat, and the tail very short then chances are Tofu is a female.
Wait till he/she gets over 60lbs and has to be wheeled into the vets, on one of those childs red cart thingys!
