I've read that watering eyes is a sign of low humidity. I keep my redfoots on cypress mulch, which holds moisture well. As long I keep the plants well watered, their eyes don't water & I assume the humidity level is fine.
I must have the only redfoot who doesn't like to be misted with a squirt bottle. You'd thing I was spraying him with battery acid from the way he reacts.
